Suspension specialists in south-east Melbourne

Whether your forks are weeping oil, your rear shock has gone harsh, or you've never had your suspension set up for your weight and riding style — we can help. Riders from Cranbourne, Clyde, Berwick, Narre Warren, Pakenham and Frankston bring their motorcycles to Priesty's for honest suspension work that actually makes a difference.

We service road, dirt, adventure and track motorcycles. Every job starts with a conversation about how you ride, what you weigh, what you want from the bike and what isn't working currently.

Fork seal replacement & fork servicing

Leaking fork seals are more than a cosmetic problem — oil on your fork stanchions can run down onto your brake discs and pads, killing braking performance and creating a real safety risk. We replace fork seals, dust seals and bushes, refresh the fork oil to the correct weight and quantity, and pressure-test for any leaks.

A full fork service goes further — stripping the internal cartridge or damper rod assembly, cleaning everything, inspecting bushes and replacing wear items as required, then refilling with the right oil weight and setting air gap to spec.

Shock servicing & suspension setup

Rear shocks suffer from heat, contamination and degraded oil over time. We can service most cartridge-style shocks — strip, clean, replace seals and oil, recharge with nitrogen and dyno-check where the unit supports it. For shocks we can't service in-house we work with trusted specialist partners.

Suspension setup is more than just turning clickers. We measure static and rider sag, work through compression and rebound damping settings, check spring rates against your weight, and explain what each adjustment does so you can fine-tune it on the road yourself.

Track & race suspension preparation

If you're heading to a track day, doing club racing or preparing a dedicated track bike, suspension is critical. We'll work through full setup, fit upgraded springs if required, set up sag and clickers for the specific track or surface, and have you riding a motorcycle that does what you ask of it.

FAQ

Common questions

How often should fork oil be changed?+

Most manufacturers recommend every 20,000–30,000 km, or every 2–3 years. Aggressive riders, track riders and dirt riders should service more often.

My forks are leaking — can you fix them?+

Yes — fork seal replacement is one of the most common jobs we do. While we're in there we'll inspect bushes, refresh the fork oil and check for stanchion damage.

Can you set my suspension up for my weight?+

Absolutely — proper setup starts with sag measurement and spring rate assessment for your weight, riding style and bike. We then dial in compression and rebound from there.

Do you do track day suspension setup?+

Yes — full track preparation including setup, spring changes and clicker adjustment for your specific circuit.

Can you service shocks as well as forks?+

Yes for most cartridge-style shocks. For specialist units we work with trusted partners to get them rebuilt to spec.
